Hi all

I've just bought Snekke AKA Margerita AKA Hurley Burley. I have decided to revert to her origional name and have gone for the dictionary spelling. "Hurly Burly"

She is fractional rigged, Outboard powered and with a V basic interior. She has a bit of a racing history I understand (any stories would be appreciated), has a fully faird hull, running backstays, multiple genoa tracks and an aluminium rudder.

I have been doing some work on the standing rigging and mast (to pacify the insurers and surveyor) and am due to re-step the mast this weekend. I can't wait to see how she sails when back in one piece.

I am new to the GK24 but not to sailing. I have downsized from a She31 and look forward to some day sailing with the wife and kids and also to some club racing here in Eastbourne. Who knows, Round the Island next year?

I love the idea of a 'Keep it simple' boat and hope she delivers the bang for buck sailing enjoyment expected.

I looked at Hurley Burley before I bought Gate Krasher. Would have been a very quick GK in the right hands, hull was fully faired, she was stripped out and a very light ally rudder, but her sails were totally shot, so she never really lived up to expectations when we used to race against her.

Last time I saw her was about 6 or 8 years ago disappearing up the main street in the city on the back of a trailer !
