Hello all,
I've had a mail from a previous GK owner, Paul Crossley, enquiring about his old GK. Sounds like he's missing the old girl! Do you own Hocus Pocus / Galvanick? Is this your GK he's describing or do you know whose it might be?
I used to own this boat and named her Hocus Pocus. She was kept in the Clyde at Inverkip marina and raced in the Clyde and cruised up the west coast of Scotland. She used to be called Galvanick originally and we bought her from the south coast in 1990 shortly after she had been built by, and was owned by, a chap called Paul East but she had only covered around 600 miles when we bought her and she was immaculate, had only been launched in 1987 I believe - he was a perfectionist! We changed her from roller headsail to tuff luff and bought new sails for racing and cruising. We sold her to a chap called Alistair Bryce in 1992/93 (cant quite remember) and he took her to the Firth of Forth which I believe is where she is today, it's a while since I saw her mind. She has a non standard interior with a full size chart table which folds down adjacent to the port quarterberth - rather unusual but very useful. That's all I can tell you other than we had a wonderful time with her and I am sure she is giving her present owner a lot of fun. Hope this helps fill in any gaps. Im presently keeping an eye for the right GK29 - Hocus Pocus gave me the bug for the GK!
