Stanchion Bases 2008/03/24 13:07
Slingshot's stanchion bases are getting corroded away, and I've got some soggy deck under one of them.... so time to replace at least 2 and re-build the deck.

Without the luxury of 'touch and feel' chandlers in Singapore, I've got to order some blind from an online chandlers in the UK.

Anybody out there got the closest match to the existing (manufacturer / model number ?) that I could relatively safely order. Appreciate the hole centres won't be identical, but that's not a huge issue.

Just something that someone has used, and knows will work.

Thanks,

Keith in Singapore

Hi

I'v just bought some for my damaged stanchions bases. (hit on start line).

They came from Force4 chandlery in the UK See address below. (£22.95 each plus UK VAT and postage)

The hole pcd is just a little out , but they do fit my original aluminium uprights as well.

Happy fitting

Many thanks. That ties in with another thread from Forethought's website regarding YS bases.

I'll get me some put on a plane.

Cheers,

What did you do to rebuild the deck? I have soggy deck around the base of at least 4 of my stanchions which needs work this winter. I also have water ingress around one of the lower shroud chainplates where it has lifted the deck. This section of deck needs to be rebuilt and the more robust chain plates detailed on thsi site fitted. Any info you have on this work would be appreciated
