Instructions and PDF diagram of new masthead rig chainplates I just had made up, and then fitted to Slingshot to replace the pathetic & weedy Makefast V bolts, which I’m surprised have allowed the rig to stay up so long. |

Some GK24's suffer from slight dimples on the hull due to the forces put on the chainplates being transferred via a tie-bar to the hull sides. Even with this extra strengthening the chainplates and deck move and flex when the conditions become a little more challenging. |

There are two numbers stamped on the transom of most GK24's. The first has the form SOU and a series of numbers, presumably the yard or build number. This number is missing on some GK's, and it's location changes from boat to boat. |
