Electronique
Fred Portwin writes in with details and some great photos of his GK, Electronique.

Electronique has mast head rigging, an outboard 5HP long shaft and a 3.3HP long shaft back-up and this is used for the tender I bought Electronique in November 1986 after seeing her in the previous owner's garden in Broadstairs. I didn't know anything about GK24's but loved the shape of her and she came well equipped with sails etc but was basic down below with no lining and nuts and bolts showing.

She was transported to Gillingham Marina and my brother, Roy and I spent most winter weekends working on her. We had her put in the water in the spring and then set off to take her to Chichester Harbour. Had a few problems when we reached Dover and had to stay there for a few weeks until we got them sorted out but we finally arrived back to her mooring in the Itchenor Channel.

She is now moored in the Bosham Channel during the summer months, very handy for me as I live in Emsworth, and she spends the winter months at Hornet S.C. Gosport.

We took her to Falmouth and Dartmouth for a number of years to the GK Nationals. On one trip to Falmouth we lost the mast as the U bolts parted so would recommend that you replace them every 5 years. Have also taken part in quite a number of Round the Island Races. Have also taken her across the Channel a number of times and also to the Channel Islands.
