Race 2 & 3 of the PSC Parhelion Series

A constant easterly force four and bright sunshine greeted the competitors of this series. Four GK24's went out to race just to the east of the submarine barrier. PSC regulars Genghis Khan and Scallywag were joined by Gulf Kilo, and GraphiK joined in for the second of the two races.

Both Races were simple windward - leeward courses with three laps. The first race saw Scallywag start with a port-end flyer and Genghis stating at the committee boat end, both boats reached the windward mark at around the same time. Unfortunately Scally missed the leeward mark leaving Genghis to build up a lead that was held until the end. Gulf Kilo was a little late to the start but sailed strongly during the three laps to catch up and achieve second place..

The second race saw some exceptionally close racing between Genghis and Scally who traded places throughout the three laps with Gulf Kilo and Graphic both sailing strongly. With a crew of three Gulf Kilo had their work cut out in the occasionally gusty conditions. The most exhausted of all the crews must have been that of GraphiK who were only two-up, however with a brand new suit of sails they could be a force to be reckoned with in future races.
