| Race 8 & 9 of the PSC Parhelion (Final day in series) |

Despite the forecast of light winds an Easterly of around 15 knots welcomed the group of yachts that came out to race. The start line for the final two races had been set out to the east of the submarine barrier. Three GK24's were out on the water Genghis Khan, Scallywag and Gulf Kilo. The first race started slightly later than planned and the wind had eased a little but with the tide just turned and an easterly wind the water was quite sloppy, most GK owners know what it's like to hit a wave and Genghis suffered in the first beat of the line from the shifting wind and lumpy conditions allowing Scally to build a lead. The course was a simple windward-leeward course and the smart money did their best to stay inshore to keep out of the tide before going out for the top mark. The rain in the morning however made it difficult to view the buoy and deciding when to tack for the top mark was a bit hit or miss. Unfortunately Gulf Kilo didn't make the start of the first race, this left Genghis taking first place and Scally in Second. By the time of the second race the wind had died off a little more and both Genghis and Scally were now flying a No1 and full main, only Gulf Kilo continued with a number three. While Gulf Kilo couldn't quite match the speed of the others she could easily out-point and this could have proved a shrewd move. None of the GK's had a good start with Genghis and Gulf Kilo being well off the line and whilst Scally had a great position at the port-end her main sheet broke just before the gun. On the beats all three boats would change positions and fight to be top-dog and the final result showed a close finish. 1st - Genghis, 2nd Gulf Kilo, 3rd Scallywag (with a bodged mainsheet) Results
