Many thanks to Phil Leggett of Ghengis Khan for this write-up of the Cork 2006 Regatta: Two GK24's and one GK29 competed in the 2006 Cork regatta, ( irc 6 class). Winds wre light during the first two day of event, but built gradually throughout the week. The fleet consited of 32 boats, with a large fleet of formular 28 and Impala 28. Several specialist boats were also racing in this fleet , two sonars and a modified Bolero. Many eyes were trained on the elegant quater tonner Manzanita. The GKs raced very closly throughout the week , with Ghengis Khan GBR 7194 recording a 5th in the harbour race. Final positions for the GKs were...
