Polar Bear origionally had the name "Muppeteer", she was then renamed in 1990 to "Ichtus" then again in 1991 to the name "Polar Bear". Richard Buckley purchased her in St Peter Port Guernsey in April 2004.

Richard sailed her from Guernsey to Plymouth where she was lifted out and trailed back to her new moorings at Weston-Super-Mare. Polar Bear is now used for cruising in the local area and has had some success at club racing.
