Skyrocket

Skyrocket is now owned by Robert Strange and daughter Fiona Strange, she now lives at Torpoint in Cornwall

Previous owner Robert Pitts has sent the following message...

She [Skyrocket] is a refugee of the Dartmouth National Championships which was
enormous fun but was the last time we sailed her competitvely - she is
just getting to old and these days can be found gently pottering around
Plymouth (her home port although she is currently moored on the Yealm).

Please find a scanned photo from the Dartmouth Nationals - Gosshawk
(another masthead) can just about be made out about ten yards ahead
whilst further down the track the red and white hull of the Fractional
rigged Strike (or it could be Foiled Again) can be made out.

Skyrocket is standard draft (I beleive there were a few shoal draft and
certainly at the nationals there was a wing keel version and an extra
deep keel version) she has an outboard (I still have the original
ex-works Watermota Shrimp inboard together with variable pitch prop - I
removed it from the boat about nine years ago because it is petrol with
an internal tank located directly over the engine - I guess they did
things differently back in 1977).
